Services

Communications support for technology incidents.

I help technology companies prepare for and communicate during outages, security incidents, product controversies, and other high-pressure events.

  1. 01

    Incident and outage communications

Clear updates for customers, employees, executives, and the press during an incident.

I join your incident channel, confirm the facts with the technical team, and write each update. I also keep support, sales, and leadership working from the same information.

    What you get

    • Scheduled status page updates
    • Customer notices by impact level
    • Support and customer success responses
    • Executive and board briefings
    • Post-incident report support
  2. 02

    Vulnerability and breach disclosure

Accurate, coordinated notices for security incidents and vulnerability disclosures.

I coordinate the disclosure schedule with your security team and counsel. I can manage researcher communications and make sure customer notices, advisories, and regulatory filings use the same facts.

    What you get

    • Notification schedule by jurisdiction
    • Security advisories and CVE copy
    • Researcher and bug bounty communications
    • Customer and partner notices
    • Drafts for legal and regulatory review
  3. 03

    Product and policy response

Communications support for unpopular product, pricing, and policy changes.

I assess the complaints, identify which concerns need a product or policy decision, and recommend whether to keep, change, or reverse the decision. I then write the response for the channels where customers are discussing it.

    What you get

    • Recommendation to keep, change, or reverse the decision
    • Founder and executive statements
    • Community, forum, and social responses
    • Guidance for moderation and replies
    • Communications for product or policy changes
  4. 04

    Press and analyst support

Fast, consistent responses to reporters and analysts.

    • Triage for reporter and analyst requests
    • Spokesperson preparation and Q&A documents

    Executive and internal communications

Updates for employees, managers, boards, and investors.

    Layoffs and restructuring

A communications plan for affected employees, the remaining team, and external audiences.

    Public response monitoring

Reporting on what customers, communities, and the press are saying.

I monitor the places where your customers and industry discuss the company. During an incident, I report the main claims, questions, and changes in sentiment so the response team can focus on issues that matter.

    Planning and incident exercises

Playbooks, draft messages, and practice before an incident occurs.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

How quickly can you start?
Retainer clients receive a response within 15 minutes at any time. For other companies, I can usually begin within an hour, subject to availability and a conflict check.
Do you replace our PR agency?
No. I focus on incidents and preparation. I work with your existing PR agency on press relationships, launches, and other ongoing work.
Can you speak to the press for us?
Yes, if that is the right approach. I can also prepare your spokesperson, draft responses, and join interviews as an adviser.
How do you work with our legal team?
I draft the communications and counsel reviews them for legal obligations and risk. Your company makes the final decision when legal and communications advice differs.
Do you work with early-stage companies?
Yes. A short readiness project is usually the best starting point for a small team. I recommend a retainer when an incident at your company could disrupt your customers' operations.
Do you handle executive misconduct or departures?
Yes. I can support the investigation, leadership transition, employee communications, and public announcement. Governance decisions remain with the board and its advisers.
